Trek - Frame Pivot Bearing Kits

This listing is for the sale of frame pivot bearings fitted into full suspension mountain (MTB) bike frames.

The kits contain the bearings for the frame pivots only. They do not contain any hardware such as bolts, nuts, washers, spacers. You will need to obtain these genuine items from a specific dealer for your brand of bike.

Bearings for headsets, wheels & bottom brackets are listed separately.

The picture in the listing is only generic & does not show what bearings are in the kit.

Kits are available as the following bearings

Chrome Steel (ABEC 1):- Great value for money sealed cartridge bearing. Hardened Chromium Steel balls in a steel cage with a generous grease fill.

These are a budget option which we would only advise fitting on older models.

Looked after with regular greasing & avoid pressure washers & solvent cleaners they will last well in normal off road riding conditions.

MAX Full Compliment (ABEC 3):- Non caged bearings. These are capable of withstanding much higher loadings than the standard caged roller bearings above.

Compared to bearings with cages, full compliment bearings have an increased load capacity of around 40% more. This type of bearing has been specifically developed for use in mountain bike suspension pivots where there is a higher load & a lower rotation rate. The whole point of MAX Full Compliment bearings is that more balls allow for greater strength in lower rotation, high load applications.

You will see newer models are only available as MAX bearings as this is what the manufacturer fits & recommends.

High end MTB's come fitted with MAX Full Compliment bearings as standard & are designed for hard riding.
