Mountain Bike - Bespoke Wheel Building

This listing is for my in house wheel building services.

I can build or repair wheels to a customers own specification or I will be happy to recommend a specific build.

I really cannot advocate enough how much better hand built wheels are compared to 'off the shelf' wheels.

The beauty about hand built wheels is that they can be tailored to suit individual needs. For example, with the growth of Electric Mountain Bikes (E-MTB's) there is a greater demand for stronger wheels.

Most off the shelf E-MTB wheels generally offer a stronger rim but more often don't offer an E-MTB specific spoke. The spoke is such a crucial part of the wheel build & I, from personal experience being a heavy rider (100kg), with heavy E-MTB (26kg), can vouch for having a good custom built E-MTB wheel.

I've hammered my custom wheels in the Derbyshire Peaks, Welsh Mountains & French Alps & can honestly say they have been bomb proof!!

I've a number of hard riding customers who swear by hand built wheels for strength!

I'm happy to source custom hubs, rims & spokes from some of the biggest & best manufacturers such as Hope, DT Swiss, Stans, Chris King, We Are One, Enve, Easton, Sapim, etc......

A typical cost for a custom built Hope Pro 4 Hub onto Fortus 30 Rim using Sapim Race Spokes & alloy nipples. 

I can always suggest a bit of bling with custom coloured spokes/nipples!! See Rear wheel in pics!

The cost listed (£50) is a deposit to book a slot. This will be deducted from the overall cost of the wheel build.

I quote for all wheel builds on an individual basis. What I quote is what you pay with no hidden costs. I will include for return postage unless you are collecting your wheels in person.
